Service Introduction
Statistics show that one in five pregnant women experiences miscarriage, highlighting its prevalence. However, Hong Kong has historically lacked specialized support services for parents who have experienced miscarriage. Influenced by traditional Chinese culture, miscarriage is often a taboo subject, leaving parents’ roles, grief, and complex emotions unrecognized or met with inappropriate responses, causing further harm. If not properly addressed, miscarriage can have profound emotional impacts on parents and affect marital and family relationships.
To address these needs, Caritas Family Service in Hong Kong has established the “Grace Port – Caritas Miscarriage Support Service” to provide professional and compassionate support to parents who have experienced miscarriage.
