Service Introduction

Clinical Psychology Service provides a variety of psychological assessment services, and offers quality mental health care in a confidential and safe environment to our clients. 

 

Service includes:

1. Psychological assessment:
A variety of standardized measurements are used to evaluate and assess an individual’s personality, cognitive ability, and behaviors relevant to his/her disturbance. The process usually includes interviews, behavioral observation, and testing. 

2. Psychological treatment:
Psychologists treat an individual’s problems of emotional/behavioral nature with the aim of reducing the impacts of existing psychological symptoms, mediating disturbed pattern of behavior, and promoting positive mental health. A variety of theoretical approach and modalities are applied, including cognitive therapy, behavioral therapy, acceptance-based therapy, play therapy, interpersonal therapy, and trauma-focused therapy. 

3. Mental health education
 The Service includes promoting mental health education to the public by providing advices and training to other professionals. 

 

Target group

The major target group includes clients with emotional or behavioral problems, including adjustment problems, relationship problems, mood disorders, reactions to trauma, and other psychological problems. Referrals from the social workers of the Caritas Family Service are needed. Anyone who has a potential need of receiving the clinical psychology service can contact the social worker for enquiry and referral.
