Grace Port - Caritas Miscarriage Support Centre - Jockey Club Perinatal Bereavement Care Project

Caritas Hong Kong, Grace Port - Caritas Miscarriage Support Centre received fundings from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charitable Fund and began a 3-year project named Jockey Club Perinatal Bereavement Care Project. The unit aimed to serve parents who suffered from miscarriage and couples planning for childbearing through a variety of service. 

Objectives

1. To provide an intensive, comprehensive and professional care and services for the individuals and couples who experience miscarriage; to help them recover from and tide over their complexed and entangled emotions, the damage of the self, the couple's emotional and sexual intimacy caused by miscarriage.

2. To facilitate the individuals and couples who are planning for childbearing in pertinent to better preparation for pregnancy and avoiding miscarriage.

3. To cultivate a compassionate society with empathy and acceptance towards individuals and couples experienced miscarriage.

4. To work on capacity building. Professional sharing for the helping professionals with the aims of knowledge transfer are to facilitate further service development and delivery in the social work field.
